Amos Lapeyrouse
Memorial Award
Amos
Lapeyrouse was one of the Terrebonne Black Bass Club's charter members. Mr.
Lapeyrouse dedicated himself to excellence and was an outstanding member of the Terrebonne
Black Bass Club. A large part of the club's success during the early years of
incorporation was due to his pursuit of excellence.
That pursuit of excellence is still
evident today and we remember him with an award presented to outstanding members.
The award is presented yearly to a member who has served the club in meritorious fashion
during any previous two years. The recipient is designated by a secret ballot, with
the votes being collected by the previous recipient of the award. This award
recognizes excellence. That pursuit of excellence is the backbone of our club and
shall continue to be for years to come.
Melvin LeBlanc Memorial Fisherman
of the Year Award
Melvin
LeBlanc was a charter member and honorary member of the Terrebonne Black Bass Club.
Melvin remained in the club until his death in September 1999. Melvin's dedication
to the club is apparent in all aspects of the club as in now exists.
In addition to his love of the
Terrebonne Black Bass Club, Melvin also excelled at the sport he loved. His fishing
prowess and love for fishing was evident at every tournament and club event, with
award-winning stringers and lunkers quite commonplace. In his memory, the club
now honors the most outstanding fisherman each year with the Melvin LeBlanc Memorial
Fisherman of the Year Award.
